The second of our Fanzone stories comes from Rachel & Catherine age 9 and 6, whose story relates to the Radio 1 Boyzone concert. So read on... My name is Rachel and I am 9 years old . Last year in November my sister and my mum and me went to see Boyzone for the very first time at the special concert they did on Radio One and I want to tell you about it . How it started was we entered a competition on the boyzone web site to win tickets to see the Radio one concert . We didn't think that we would win tickets and my mum had even forgot that we entered. Mum got an e-mail from the people who did the web site saying that we had won two tickets! She didn't think it was true so rang them up and they said it was. Then we couldn't decide who was going to the show and because they were in my name I got to go and my sister Catherine who is 6 was really upset. The people sent the tickets out on the Friday by RECORDED DELIVERY and they still hadn't arrived on the Monday morning. Mum had bought the coach tickets down to London from where we live and everything so she rang up the people who had sent them and they said they had no more tickets. Mum got really cross with the post office for losing the letter! We didn't think we would be going and mum was mad because they wouldn't let her get her money back on the coach ticket but then the lady from the website rang up and said that she had managed to get some more tickets and this time she had 3 tickets for us so my sister could go as well! The next day we had to go to London. We had to leave our house early and we had a day off school and the head teacher wanted to come too! I've never been on a coach before that but it was really nice and the man kept bringing us drinks and things. When we got to London it was raining very hard and it was dark so we took a taxi and the driver told us what everything was. It was the first time my sister and me had been to London and it was very nice. When we got to the place where the concert was going to be there were already some girls waiting but we had to wait on the church steps to meet the lady with the tickets. It was really cold and really wet and the rain was soaking through my boots. So mum took us to McDonalds for something to eat. When the lady met us she gave us the tickets and said that she was sorry the other letter had got lost because there were some signed photos of Boyzone in there for me and my sister. We had to go and stand in the line for the show and a man kept coming out and saying it would only be a few more minutes but he was saying that for nearly an hour. We met a girl called Megan in the line and her mum Sue. She was really nice and we still keep in touch with them now. When we got inside it was nice and warm but we were really wet. We all sat down on a row that was about half the way up but then a man came and said we couldn't sit there. Mum thought we would have to go right to the very back or up into the top bit but he said we had to go and sit on the very front row because my sister and me are small and we wouldn't be able to see when the people in front stood up! he asked how many of us there was and mum said 5 so Megan and Sue got to go on the front row with us! The stage was really close to us. I hadn't ever seen a concert before except the big concert on the video so I didn't know what it would be like. They were playing the interview with boyzone over the speakers so we could hear what was on the radio. Then Zoe Ball came in and said hello. She is really pretty. Then she said that Boyzone were coming on and they did and everyone started to scream. They were really good! We were sat right in front of Shane and my sister made mum swap seats so she could be in front of Shane because he is her favourite. She was shouting at him and waving at him and he kept smiling and waving back at her . She was really happy. I like them all but Stephen is my favourite but he was at the other end of the stage from us so me and Megan had to shout very loud! I don't think he will have heard us though! Boyzone sang for an hour and talked a little bit but we couldn't hear what they were saying because of the noise of the people. Mum had a friend tape it off the radio and we listened to it when we got back so now we know what they really said . I thought the funniest bit was when Ronan didn't sing the words to Picture of You. I think he forgot them because everyone just started laughing and then no one could sing anymore. After the show we had a few hours before our coach was leaving to come home so we went round the back to see them leaving. Tim and Gerry came out and we talked to them for a bit with Megan and they were really nice and we got our pictures taken with them. It wasn't raining but it was getting really cold and it was late as well. We waited ages and then everyone had gone and all the people left from the back door. When we were walking up to the main road we saw Ronan sat in a taxi and my sister nearly got run over because she ran into the road just as a car was coming round the corner. She was OK though. He waved though when the taxi drove off which was really nice. We took a taxi back to the coach station and had something warm to drink because we were still very cold. We didn't get a coach back until after 11 at night and we didn't get home to bed until 5 o'clock in the morning and we missed school the next day because we were so tired. It was my birthday the next week and I got the Where We Belong CD so I could listen to all the songs that I'd heard at the show all over again. When I hear the song I Love The Way You Love Me I always remember the radio one show. Thank you Boyzone for a great show . I've been to one concert since then at Wembley and we are going to see them again in Birmingham and also in Dublin in January because our mum is taking us with a load of other people from the ADB group . PS The signed photos and the original tickets did arrive.......just before Christmas....and the post marks say it has been to New York!!!!
